The project
Help the school archives preserve the history of coeducation at Nobles! The Written Narratives Project is an initiative to capture the stories and experiences of Nobles community members as they relate to the coeducation of the school, which began with the Upper School in 1974 and expanded to the Middle School in 1982.
We invite graduates, faculty, staff, parents, and other members of the Nobles community who witnessed or participated in the coeducation era to contribute a written narrative to this project. This project aims to research, document, and preserve the history of women at Nobles more thoroughly. Please be aware that your responses and any material submitted with your response will be available to Nobles community members in the archives. How to participate
You can visit the Written Narratives Project Submission Form to access the project. Your narrative can take on any form, whether bullet-point or numbered lists, a short paragraph, or a long-form response like an essay. There is no word limit and no style requirement. The storytelling prompts document can help guide you in your writing. However, this is only a guide, and you are not required to use any prompts in your narrative.
Before you turn in your narrative, please complete the Written Narratives Release Form via DocuSign. This release form permits the archives to preserve your narrative in the archives.
The 50 Years of Women at Nobles Oral History Project aims to preserve the history of coeducation and women at Nobles through oral storytelling. Like the Written Narratives Project, the Oral History Project seeks to document the diverse experiences and perspectives of Nobles community members who were part of the coeducation era through their own voices.
Oral History interviews will be conducted during the fall and early spring terms of the 2024-2025 school year.

In an effort to research, document, and preserve more thoroughly the history of coeducation at Noble and Greenough School, the archives seek archival materials that illuminate the rich history and experiences of women at Nobles. We are particularly interested in materials related to various aspects, including school life and culture, traditions, athletics, academics, teaching methods, dress code, student clubs and organizations, and more.
